Golden Age Project COMP-54 MKIII Mono Vintage-Style Compressor
The Golden Age Project COMP-54 MKIII is a mono vintage-style compressor that incorporates a Class-A diode bridge circuit, built in the style of the legendary Neve 2254. It incorporates the warmth and coloration of a vintage dynamics processor with updated amenities at a price point that’s feasible for musicians, singers, and home recordists. The MKIII model brings several enhancements including a 1/4″ insert point, better signal-to-noise performance, and improved controls. With its transformer-balanced XLR and 1/4″ inputs and outputs, stepped potentiometers, and support for stereo-linking with another COMP-54 (available separately), this compressor can easily integrate with professional studio installations as well as personal recording setups. Plus it can handle a spectrum of sources from vocals, guitars, and drums to complex program material, thanks to the plentiful selections for threshold, ratio, attack, and release settings.
